Project One
Objective: Create a three-page website entirely by hand using HTML and CSS.
As someone brand-new to coding, I built a three-page website entirely from HTML and customized it with CSS. I learned how important attention to detail is, especially when hunting down tiny errors, and gained confidence using my resources to problem-solve. This project taught me the foundations that every website is built on.
Project Two
Objective: Create a responsive three-panel site showing how the same content evolves from basic Bootstrap, to a themed version, to a fully customized design.
For this project, I explored how much more efficient development can be when using Bootstrap. Working with a theme and the inspector tool helped me understand layout structure, class targeting, and responsive design. It was exciting to compare the final three-panel layout to my hand-coded first project and see how different methods shape the workflow.
Project Three
Objective: Create a content and an ecommerce site using WordPress page variations that demonstrate versatility in layout, theme customization, and content structure.
This project pushed me into real-world web development through WordPress. I built both an ecommerce jewelry site and a podcast content site, learning how to use themes, plugins, and WooCommerce along the way. Although WordPress had a learning curve, experimenting, testing, and problem-solving taught me how powerful and flexible the platform can be.
